FROM OUR PROJECT COLLECTIONMake access limitations part of the findings
Depending on the roof and available access, the assessment may consider coverings, seams, flashings, edges and drainage. Accessible interior areas can provide additional clues. Ask for clear locations and photographs that help explain the conditions being discussed.
Equipment can prevent inspection of some connections or surfaces. Request identification of those areas and ask whether further access is needed before choosing a repair. An inaccessible detail should remain an explicit uncertainty instead of disappearing from a report that sounds as though every component was assessed.
