FROM OUR PROJECT COLLECTIONExpect observations before conclusions
An assessment may consider the covering, seams, edges, flashings and drainage according to roof type and access. Ask for clear locations of findings and an explanation of how they relate to the reported problem. An isolated photograph should not carry more certainty than the inspection method supports.
A visual review cannot expose every concealed layer. If testing or an opening is proposed, ask what it can establish and what remains uncertain afterward. Areas blocked by equipment or otherwise inaccessible should be identified so the recommendation does not imply complete knowledge of the assembly.
