FROM OUR PROJECT COLLECTIONPlan tile handling around the actual project
Where underlayment work requires lifting tiles, ask whether reuse is suitable and what condition checks apply. The contractor should identify retained areas, replacement assumptions and the process for dealing with pieces that cannot be reused. Do not assume every old tile will remain serviceable through handling.
If replacement is needed, consider profile, fastening requirements, availability and weathering. A new tile may differ from neighboring pieces. Review the proposed match before approval and keep the material details with the scope so appearance and technical fit are both part of the decision.
