FROM OUR PROJECT COLLECTIONCheck whether the surrounding roof supports a repair
Replacing an isolated component can be sensible when adjacent materials remain suitable for a durable connection. Ask how the proposed repair fits the existing covering, underlayment and flashing at the affected area. At a transition between roof systems, the connection itself belongs in the scope rather than being left between two repair descriptions. If the surrounding material is deteriorated or earlier patches conceal the condition, ask what further evaluation is needed. The contractor should explain why the proposed boundary is adequate and identify any nearby concerns that will remain after the limited repair is completed.
