FROM OUR PROJECT COLLECTIONEvaluate replacement alongside the retained assembly
A replacement and a recover can involve very different treatment of the existing roof. Ask what each option removes, retains and repairs, and why the current assembly is suitable for the approach being proposed. A roof that appears serviceable on top can still contain wet or damaged layers that need attention. The estimate should explain insulation, attachment, edges, drainage and connections around equipment as parts of the assembly. Where the replacement stops at another roof section, describe that connection and any limitations of the retained material rather than leaving the boundary to be decided during installation.
