FROM OUR PROJECT COLLECTIONExamine the deck and underlayment when symptoms warrant it
Buckled shingles can involve the wood deck or underlayment as well as the visible covering. The inspection should consider those possibilities and explain what can be established without removal. Where a concealed condition remains uncertain, understand what further access would be needed before choosing the final scope.
A small damaged section may allow repair if adjacent shingles and supporting materials remain suitable. Discuss material availability, appearance differences and the ability to make a reliable connection. For a roof replacement, specify what will be removed and how any additional deck repairs will be documented and approved rather than assuming a new surface will solve all underlying issues.
